Intern Patient Administration (m/f/d)

The Spitalverbund Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the Akutspital Herisau and the Psychiatrisches Zentrum AR in Herisau ensures the extended basic medical care for the population in the Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care for the Canton and beyond.

In the education department under the leadership of Frau Sarah Tihanyi, Frau Rahel Borgogno is looking for an intern for patient administration for the Psychiatrisches Zentrum location in Herisau starting 01. Januar 2027 for a period of 6-12 months.

Your tasks

• Recording and processing of patient data
• Recording and processing of accounts payable (external invoices)
• Recording and processing of cost guarantees
• Invoicing of assigned areas
• Collaboration/Backoffice at the reception
• Written and oral clarifications with insurance companies, authorities and patients
• General administrative activities
• Electronic archiving

• You have completed compulsory schooling.
• You have proficient skills in using common MS-Office programs and are interested in the connections within the Swiss healthcare system.
• You are a reliable, team-oriented and motivated personality and have good German language skills.
• A responsible and careful way of working characterizes you as much as your affinity for dealing with various IT applications.
• You bring good teamwork skills and like to support your colleagues with your helpful nature.
