With more than 13'000 employees representing 160 professions, the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève are a leading institution at national and international levels. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to discover the highlights of the year 2025 by clicking here.
The position is attached to the Département d'exploitation. This department's mission is to ensure the housekeeping and logistics necessary for the proper functioning of all HUG, in terms of catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises and linen hygiene. It also manages the sterilization service, the biomedical and equipment service as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1'350 professionals carry out their missions daily with a constant sense of excellence, service, and environmental responsibility.
The Service biomédical & équipements, composed of 52 employees, is responsible for managing the medical equipment fleet of the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève (HUG). Its main functions are technological and regulatory monitoring, investment programming, prescription, acquisition and maintenance of medical equipment. Furthermore, this service implements and monitors materiovigilance requirements (the head of service is the HUG materiovigilance correspondent to SwissMedic).
Job Description ##
You will be integrated into the HUG biomedical and equipment service, within the Secteur d-Ingénierie Biomédicale (SIB), and will be supervised by excellent professionals.
This internship is part of 2 themes:
The development of the biomedical network of Suisse romande and biomedical benchmarks.
The development of the Service's Quality Management System (QMS).
The service relies on the Guide des Bonnes Pratiques Biomédicales and, as part of continuous improvement and its corrective action plan, you will contribute to updating the service's 2022 & 2024 self-assessments within its quality approach, and with a view to preparing for AFAQ Certification. In this context, you will also actively participate in updating quality documentation within the biomedical GED.
The biomedical network of suisse romande is organized around 3 Groupes Techniques biomédicaux romands (investments and technological monitoring, maintenance and operation, quality and vigilance); you will actively participate in the development of this network by taking up the progress of the various works carried out by these GT and consolidating future work (benchmarks and comparison between hospitals and clinics), create standards and make information available through communication tools to be built and fed. In this framework, you will be led to work and exchange with all hospital biomedical services in Suisse romande.
You will also have the opportunity to get concretely involved in several projects at different levels of progress or coordination.
Qualifications ##
You are currently undergoing university training in biomedical engineering (Master in progress or potentially Bachelor at the end of the course), or in Quality Systems (preferably with knowledge of medical devices), as well as experience (internship or other) in the hospital field or similar.
You have in-depth knowledge of standard office software (MS Office, sharepoint) and are generally comfortable with IT tools. Knowledge of communication tools (websites or others) and/or databases is a plus.
You are comfortable with document management and the entry of technical information to feed the project's database management tools.
You have a sense of rigor and organization. You act with methodology and efficiency and demonstrate a capacity for communication and listening.
You know how to work in a team and are familiar with project management in the field of medical devices (and related regulations).
In addition to your spirit of collaboration, you are autonomous and discreet and ensure a smooth flow of information.
