Are you looking for a legal internship as practical preparation for the bar exam? Then the Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Bern is the right place for you.

At the Jugendanwaltschaft Oberland in Thun, one internship position is to be assigned at various start dates. Each internship lasts 6 months with an employment degree of 80-100%.

Your tasks

• Registering incoming reports and reports
• Protocolling interrogations
• Creating summary penalty orders
• Drafting various orders (non-filing and discontinuances)
• Preparatory work regarding the conclusion of the investigation (file organization, deadline setting according to Art. 318 StPO)
• Creating indictments and draft pleas
• Legal clarifications
• Mediating personal services
• Visits to enforcement institutions
• Enforcement of juvenile criminal law
• Communication with parties, police, and other authorities

Your profile

A prerequisite for a legal internship is the successful completion of a Master's degree in law. You are interested in criminal and criminal procedural law, possess quick comprehension skills, and are characterized by a structured and efficient way of working. Additionally, you are resilient and flexible. Due to your communicative and open nature, it is easy for you to integrate into a team. You are a native German speaker with confident expression.

We offer you

As an intern at a Jugendanwaltschaft in Bern, Thun, Burgdorf or Biel incl. antenna in Moutier, you will process, in close cooperation with the Jugendanwältinnen and Jugendanwälte, all cases committed by youths between the ages of 10 -- 18. The offenses to be investigated include all offenses of the Strafgesetzbuch and the secondary criminal law, namely road traffic and narcotics offenses, insofar as they can be committed by youths. In addition to the tasks during the investigation (interrogations, coercive measures, etc.), criminal enforcement and the (precautionary) protective measures and thus the interdisciplinary cooperation (jurists -- social workers -- institutions -- authorities -- parents) take up a large part of the daily work. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to look into all areas of work of the Jugendanwaltschaft and to participate actively.
