The JVA Hindelbank is the only correctional facility for women in German-speaking Switzerland. It serves the execution of sentences and measures with women in the closed and open sectors. 107 places are available. The committed women live within the facility in residential groups and work on weekdays in various work areas. The time in the JVA Hindelbank is intended to serve the committed women to create prerequisites for reintegration into society, in order to lead their lives without offending after release in a responsible manner.

Your tasks

The atelier produces high-quality products with the committed women for sale on the free market. A wide variety of products are created from textiles, paper, and other raw materials. Commissioned work and smaller series work are also carried out.
As an intern, you will participate with professional support in the guidance and accompaniment of work with committed women. Gradually, you will actively and independently take on various tasks according to work-agogic aspects. In our small and experienced team, you will quickly become an important team player through this.

Your profile

You are at least 24 years old and have completed vocational training. In addition, you have good manual dexterity as well as an interest in work-agogics. You are enthusiastic and structured, can guide others, and working with people with burdened biographies appeals to you. You also maintain calm and clarity in difficult and hectic situations.
Language skills: German (oral and written), foreign languages (oral) are desirable.

About the Office for Correctional Services

The Office for Correctional Services (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed execution of sentences and measures for adults and juveniles with around 1000 employees within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the Office has at its disposal four concordat correctional facilities, four regional prisons, the detention station at the Inselspital, the detention management center, as well as the probation and execution services.
