Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich, responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1'400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.

The Hauptabteilung Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) - one of eight main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for pre-trial detention, investigative detention, and security detention.

For the Social Service department of the UGZ, we are looking for a committed, team-oriented, and responsible personality for the Winterthur prison, starting on 01.02.2027 or by arrangement, for a fixed term of 6 months.

Your tasks ###

• Resource-oriented counseling and support of incarcerated persons in various areas of life such as housing situation, finances, and social insurance
• Planning and coordination regarding stay management, reintegration, or transition management (e.g., connection to Economic Social Assistance, mediation to business partners and external agencies, transition to the execution of sentences and measures)
• Interdisciplinary cooperation with internal departments such as Medical Service, supervisory and care staff, Psychiatric-Psychological Service, as well as with external agencies such as criminal investigation authorities, probation and execution services, social offices, social insurance, KESB etc.

Your profile ###

• Interest in criminal law topics as well as willingness to engage with people in difficult situations and with diverse social and cultural backgrounds
• Stable and communicative personality
• High psychological and physical resilience
• Initial administrative experience and strong organizational skills
• You are currently studying Social Work at a FH
