The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Schaffhausen is responsible for criminal prosecution and, under the leadership of the First Public Prosecutor, comprises the three departments: General Department, Jugendanwaltschaft, and Traffic Department. The Jugendanwaltschaft department conducts criminal proceedings against juveniles (10 - 18 years), issues final orders and penal orders, files indictments if necessary, and represents them in court. The Jugendanwaltschaft department is also responsible for the enforcement of imposed juvenile criminal penalties and protective measures (up to the 25th year of age) as well as for subsequent decisions.

We are looking for reinforcement for our motivated team as of 1 April 2027 or by arrangement.

What awaits you

• Insights into the field of activity of a juvenile prosecutor and an on-call prosecutor and the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of criminal procedural law and criminal law, as well as the associated juvenile criminal law provisions
• Appropriate induction, participation in or independent processing of criminal investigations and participation in the enforcement of penalties and measures, all under the supervision of a juvenile prosecutor
• Conducting interrogations, drafting statements in appeal proceedings, writing a closing argument
• Clarifications on legal questions

What you bring with you

• Completed law studies (MLaw) with enjoyment of criminal law
• Initial experience in administration, in a court and/or in legal practice is an advantage
• A stylistically confident expression in spoken and written German
• High communication skills, skillful handling of different interest groups of various levels and an affinity for criminal prosecution

• The employment contract is fixed-term and is issued for thirteen months (extension possible); remuneration is based on the Akzessistenverordnung (SHR 173.151)
